Blonde Wife’s Late-Night Phone Call Leaves Her Husband in Total Shock

The house was silent, the kind of deep quiet that only exists at two in the morning. A married couple slept peacefully—until the phone suddenly rang, slicing through the darkness like a blade. Startled, the wife, half-asleep and irritated, reached for the phone before her husband even opened his eyes.

She listened for a few seconds, her expression frozen in confusion. Then she snapped, “How should I know? That’s 200 miles from here!” and hung up without another word. She dropped back into bed as if nothing had happened.

Her husband, now fully awake, stared at her. “Who was that?” he asked, genuinely baffled.

She sighed, rolling onto her back. “I don’t know. Some woman asking if the coast was clear.”

The husband blinked. “The… coast?”

“Yeah,” she said. “She asked, ‘Is the coast clear?’ And I told her, ‘How should I know? That’s 200 miles from here.’”

That’s when it hit him—and when he realized his wife had just turned a simple phrase into an accidental punchline that would follow them for years. The late-night call, the confusion, the perfect misunderstanding… it all blended into a story he knew he’d never stop telling.

While most people would’ve been annoyed at a 2 a.m. interruption, this one turned into the funniest moment of their marriage—a midnight mix-up that still makes their friends cry laughing every time they hear it.

And the wife? She still insists she answered correctly. After all, the coast is more than 200 miles away.
