Giant Hail Recorded Tuesday Evening Leaves Town in Shock

Residents were left stunned Tuesday evening after a sudden storm unleashed massive chunks of ice from the sky, turning what began as a calm evening into pure chaos. Within minutes, the quiet streets were covered in golf ball– to baseball-sized hailstones, smashing car windshields, damaging roofs, and tearing through gardens and trees. The sound was deafening — like rocks pounding against metal — and people scrambled for cover as the storm raged overhead.

Locals described the hailstones as some of the largest they had ever seen. Videos quickly flooded social media showing chunks of ice so big they dented vehicles and even shattered windows. One resident said, “It sounded like explosions. I thought the glass was going to give in any second.” Power outages followed in several neighborhoods as lines went down, and emergency crews worked late into the night to clear debris and respond to calls.

Meteorologists confirmed that the storm cell was unusually powerful, forming rapidly and carrying intense updrafts that allowed the ice to grow larger than normal before falling. Experts say such extreme hail is becoming more frequent due to sharp weather shifts and unstable air patterns.

By morning, the streets were littered with melted ice and damaged property — but the town was grateful no serious injuries were reported. Still, for many who lived through it, the sound of that storm won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
