As I settled into my seat, the woman approached with her toddler and said, “You don’t really need two seats, do you? He’s just a child. He can sit there.”

I calmly replied, “I actually do. I paid for both, and I need the space to travel comfortably.”

She scoffed loud enough for the whole row to hear. “Some people are just selfish.”

A flight attendant came over, and before she could even speak, I handed her my boarding pass showing both seat numbers.

The attendant nodded. “Ma’am, this passenger paid for both seats. You’ll need to find your assigned one.”

The woman huffed all the way back down the aisle, muttering under her breath.

Ten minutes later, she was still glaring at me while wrestling her screaming toddler on her lap.

I leaned back, pulled out my snacks, and enjoyed the flight in peace — knowing I had every right to the comfort I had paid for.
