In those critical seconds, as students and teachers rushed to escape, Moore made a decision that would change everything.
He moved toward the danger.
The shooter fired again, striking Moore in the leg. But even that didn’t stop him. Ignoring the pain, he kept advancing, closed the distance, and managed to wrestle the weapon away.
Another staff member rushed in to help. Together, they forced the shooter to the ground and held him there until police arrived.
No student lost their life that day.
And it wasn’t luck.
It was one man choosing to run toward the threat — when everyone else was running away.
